We are now the proud owners of a 1994 Mazda 121 Bubble - with orange detailed stripes (and very cold A.C.)! It’s a four-door manual MACHINE and we are so excited to have it! We finalized everything this morning and have already taken it out for a joy ride to stretch her legs. The main thing is this - we wouldn’t even have considered having a car without the support and fund-raising from all of our friends back home.
In a little room under our church in New York, a sunday school class decided that they would like to raise money for Nick and I to have a car while we were in Australia. Their dream materialized and after a car wash, a few anonymous donations and a lot of prayer, we were able to purchase one.
We can’t thank you guys enough. We thank God when we’re in the Bubble, pleased that we don’t have to walk to the store in the aussie heat. It’s amazing! We can buy heavy things at the grocery store now without losing the circulation in our arms from carrying 13 bags!
We have also promised many rides to friends (already) and are prepared to be just as generous with taxiing as you have all been with your support. It’s as much yours as ours!
Now the next step is for a few of you to come over here and test the Bubble out for yourselves. It’s well worth the 25-hour plane ride. Promise.
Love you guys!

Sara and I (Nick) have been married since June 2007. We volunteer with an organization called YWAM (Youth With A Mission). YWAM has close to 1000 bases around the world. One of those bases is Reef to Outback in Townsville, Australia which is where we are located. Nick currently works in the communications department and Sara works with the music ministry. We believe that we will be in Australia for a few more years to continue volunteering. Neither of us receive a salary from RTO (Reef to Outback) or YWAM for what we do. We must raise all of our own support through church, friends, family, and anyone else who is genuinely interested in helping us (if you’d like to help us please visit our ‘Donate‘ section).
