Night Sky
OK so I know this shot isn’t all that impressive. The cool thing about it is that it’s a 64 second exposure taken with a canon powershot (which has a max of 15 second exposures). I hacked this powershot A720 with CHDK. It basically takes a $300 point and shoot and turns it into a $1200 camera. I can shoot my files in RAW format, view a live histogram, change shutter speeds from 1/64000 to 64 seconds, add zebra stripes (to find over/under exposed areas) and even change the color of the battery level indicator. The best part is all you have to do is load the software on the SD card. It doesn’t overwrite any of the cameras firmware. It took me a bit of time to get the card working. If you interested in how I did it send me a message. (I just checked the metadata and it doesn’t seem to reflect the way I actually took the photo. I thought that would happen).
